On 4 September 1955, the Portuguese João Baptista Martins scored the first goal in the history of the “European Champions Clubs ‘ Cup ” in the match between Sporting Club of Portugal for Partizan Belgrade ( final score 3-3). Sixty -one years later, the competition, now called the Champions League by UEFA, has not aged . Better still, it has become annual event the most watched sports in the world.
