PACTE + project
Promoting Active Cities Throughout Europe
Objectives and missions
The PACTE+ project is a three-year Erasmus+ co-funded program designed to encourage European cities to promote physical activity as a means of improving individual and collective well-being. In line with the European Union’s sport priorities, PACTE+ seeks to invest in and better promote physical activity.
The project has three main objectives:
- Improving the PACTE matrix for change,
- To help cities promote physical activity through pilot interventions,
- To measure the impact of these programs in support of active city policies.
Building on previous PACTE work, PACTE+ will use a multidimensional matrix to address active schools, active workplaces and active mobility. Four pilot cities will receive tailored support to implement active city strategies and demonstrate the benefits of this approach. The project consortium, made up of eleven partners, will focus on evaluating and improving the PACTE matrix, measuring the effects of interventions, and strengthening advocacy materials for active city policies.
