Committed: advocacy to transform society through sport

Sport and Citizenship carries a simple yet powerful conviction: sport can help improve life in society.

Our mission is guided by a clear vision: to make sport a driver of sustainable and measurable social progress. It rests on four pillars: analyze, connect, advocate, transform. As a European Think tank, we embrace a twofold responsibility: analytical rigour and concrete action.

We do not limit ourselves to generating ideas; we want them to lead to fairer policies, more inclusive practices, and stronger commitments.

In a context where the “natural virtues of sport” are being questioned, budgets are shrinking, and public policies are becoming fragmented, we need evidence. This is why our analytical mission, aimed at demonstrating the benefits of sport for society, is more strategic than ever. Without reliable data, no change is possible; without proof, no lasting commitment.

While continuing to strengthen our network, we are also building bridges between engaged companies and local associations. By facilitating the flow of field experience, supporting meaningful sponsorship, and fostering social innovation, we aim to accelerate the collective impact of all those who, like us, believe in the societal role of sport.

It is in this spirit that we have recently put forward several concrete proposals in the White Paper for a sustainable social legacy of the Paris 2024 Games.

Our advocacy is meant to be clear, demanding, and resolutely action-oriented.

“By refocusing our efforts on a limited number of targeted advocacy actions, with the aim of achieving concrete changes, we seek greater impact and visibility.” (Lilia Douihech-Slim, Vice-President of Sport and Citizenship)
