Governance
Like any French non-profit association governed by the 1901 law, Sport and Citizenship has a General Assembly of around fifty members and a Board of Directors which, beyond approving the annual accounts, the budget, and fulfilling any other statutory obligations, ensures compliance with the association’s values, Manifesto, and overall strategic orientations.
The originality of this governance lies in the involvement of members with strong expertise in all dimensions of sport in society. This governance perfectly complements the European Committee of Experts that Sport and Citizenship has built up over the years.
“The impact of sport on our society is no longer in question. As both a cornerstone of social cohesion and a vector of health benefits for our citizens, sport cannot be treated as a variable for adjustment. I am truly grateful that our team can rely on a highly competent Board of Directors deeply committed to upholding these values.” (Julian Jappert, Executive Director of Sport and Citizenship)
