PLAYER

Funded by Erasmus+ Youth, the PLAYER project promotes the inclusion of Ukrainians in migration situations in Poland and Latvia. It adapts the Fresque de la Migration, an educational tool created by Kabubu, to local contexts so that it can be facilitated by trained educators and used to raise awareness among young audiences about migration issues.

PLAYER

Led by PLAY International, Sport et Citoyenneté, and Liberi Nantes, this project offers sports clubs a practical guide to integrating displaced young people into their activities. The PLAYER project aims to strengthen the inclusion of displaced people from Ukraine through sport, while raising awareness among young people about the realities of migration. Led by Sport et Citoyenneté and funded by Erasmus+ Youth, it brings together committed partners in France, Poland, and Latvia.

Launched in Brussels on May 5 and 6, the PLAYER project – Promoting Learning and Active Youth Engagement for Ukrainian Refugees – uses sport as a key vehicle for social integration. It addresses the challenges faced by displaced people, who are often cut off from sporting activities and social spaces. At the heart of the project, Kabubu’s adaptation of the Migration Fresco will raise awareness among young Poles and Latvians about migration journeys, particularly those of Ukrainians who have arrived since 2022. The partners will also develop new educational tools and cooperative games to support clubs, educators, and social actors. Finally, the project plans to translate the MOOC Football Including Refugees (FIRE) into Polish and Latvian to reach new audiences. Together, the PLAYER partners aim to strengthen inclusion through and in sport and to provide long-term support for the solidarity movement towards displaced people.

  • Raising awareness with the Migration Fresco

Inspired by the Climate Fresco, the Migration Fresco, created by Kabubu, will be adapted to the journeys of displaced people from Ukraine to Poland and Latvia. Based on real-life testimonies, it will be led by educators and volunteers trained to raise awareness among young people and the general public.

  • Developing new tools for inclusive sport

A toolkit bringing together educational resources and cooperative sports games on sport, migration, and European citizenship will be created and distributed to clubs, educators, and social actors to strengthen their capacity to welcome and support displaced persons.

  • Sharing and disseminating knowledge

The MOOC “Fire and Refugees” will be translated into Polish and Latvian, and sports festivals will be organized in Poland and Latvia in the summer and fall of 2026.
