Unifier: Citizens’ Conferences on Sport

In December 2024, Sport and Citizenship launched the first in a series of Citizens’ Sport Conferences. Through this initiative, our Think tank responds to the need to create a forum for exchange among all stakeholders in sport who share the conviction that sport is a key driver of societal transformation.
This annual gathering is intended to bring together voices from civil society, representatives of the political sphere, businesses, foundations, and associations, and to set out a number of objectives to be achieved.
The first Citizens’ Sport Conference (Conférence citoyenne du Sport – #CCS) was held on 18 December 2024 in Paris. It focused on the societal legacy of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, giving the floor to all actors involved in the event and paying particular attention to the future challenges of sport as a factor of social cohesion and as a driver of a healthier, more fulfilling life.
Sport and Citizenship has published a white paper containing a set of proposed actions that emerged from this Conference. In 2025, it will mobilize and support public and private stakeholders in the implementation of these proposals, which will be subject to an initial assessment of their concrete realization at the second Citizens’ Sport Conference to be held on 9 December 2025.
Around 15 public and private partners made it possible to organize the first Citizens’ Sport Conference. We warmly thank them for their support and enthusiasm.
