For many years doping embodied the main threat to sporting authorities, however a new concern arises- the manipulation of sport meets. Sport meet manipulation attracts criminal activity thanks to a variety of fields: technological evolution sparked by the internet, the global betting boom, the lack of rules in States and sport organisations, … Whether to save the educative and social values transmitted via sport, or to preserve public order, all authorities have a common interest in preventing the manipulation of competitions.
